Abby Mardel Sitting at my vanity in my dorm room wasn't really relaxing at all. Shaking the bottle of sparkles that I was given by the setter-upper-person, my bff, Massi, didn't help either. Then I got to looking at the dazzling little beadlike things and decided that nobody on the entire face of the whole world could make me wear these things to see a guy. So desperate she thought I was. So wrong.
Brushing on some of my fave blush, a thin layer of black eyeliner and some volumizing mascerra was all I did, and I thought I looked good. Then I looked down at my scraggly old T-shirt in the mirror. Running to the bathroom with my bright green dress hanging from my shoulder, I slipped into it. The dress made me feel beautiful and graceful. "That bastard." I said to myself. I don't know how she got me to do it. Maybe it was the way she got down on her knees and started to beg. I only agreed because she was embarrassing me. Again. "ugh" Now it was time for the hair.
Standing in front of my mirror, I stared to work on it, changing it entirely.
Finally! Finished! Each Auburn strand of hear was perfectly pulled into a loose bun at the top of my head, several looping down over my face in a dazzling style. I felt proud of my creation! Walking back to my dorm room in a swift, quick manner, I slipped the strappy green high heels on my freckled feet, grabbed my tiny silver handbag and slipped the well fit mask over my hair and on my face. Just walk. I could just picture in my mind trying to walk in three inch heels through grass. Better take the long way. I took one last look in the mirror then left the room.
The pavement was smooth and easier to walk upon than my dorm room carpet. Thank God. There. The gymnasium was right there. There were the doors, then the floor, then everyone. Calming myslef, I strode in like I owned the place. A couple stares and whispers, then it was over. ok, I was supposed to meet a cute, blonde guy. Crap. That could be anyone.____________________________________________________ dress- www.smart163.com/uploaded_files/product/24-big2.jpgmask- www.tophatters.com.au/./media/Green%20Mask%20with%20Peacock%20Feathers.jpgshoes- www.heelandsoleshoes.com/data/M839E88CC1208473804-4724purse- www.baghog.com/items/fr0001.jpghair- www.hairstylescut.com/images/wedding/wedding-hair6.JPG

Cameron couldn't believe that he'd agreed to this whole blind date thing. Well, technically he'd been bribed into it -- $40, two Js, and a line of coke, hell yeah! -- but still. He had issues making small talk and whatnot in general. And now he was going to be at a freakin' masquerade ball thing, where he wouldn't even be able to see the girl! What was he supposed to do?! Hopefully he could figure something out.
Stepping out of the dorm, Cameron made his way across the grounds, not really caring about using the path. His black dress shoes were old, he'd worn them a hundred times before, but they were highly polished. His tux was dark gray, and the shirt he had underneath it was black. His tie was navy blue to bring out the blue in his eyes. His friend had said that he looked good, but he didn't really care how he looked at this current point in time. Cameron's blond curly hair was slicked back so his mask would stay on his face. He felt weird not having hair in his eyes.
Sighing, Cameron pulled his cell phone -- a navy blue Chocolate 2 -- out of his pocket, and sent a text to the number he'd just added to his phone earlier that day. "hey u here yet?" he typed. He glanced down at the number, reading it over, and over, then sent the text just as he pushed open the gym doors. The girl he was supposed to meet had brownish red hair. That's all he'd been told. How fucking descriptive.

Abby Mardel "I shoula been a cowboy, shoulda learned to rope 'n ride. Justa ridin my pony on that cattle drive, stealin th-" My phone started to go off. Text message. It was the number that Massi gave me before I left. This guy's number. "Hey, u here yet?" it said. "yeah, lime green dress." That narrowed it down to me and me only. Looking around, I tried to see if I could guess which one he was. There was a cutie, but he had brown hair. He coulda died it. Naw. Then I saw a..... nerd. Glasses with tape, too-short pants, and a PDA basically up his nose. Guh. Better not be him. Giggling to myself, I continued to look. No, no, no, no, not him, definatly not him, huh-uh.... and so on. twelve guys, all blonde hair. Crap. I started to laugh under my breath. How did I get myself into this?

Cameron's phone buzzed in his pocket, and he snatched it up quickly. Sliding it open, he read the text. A lime green dress? How the fuck was he supposed to find a girl in a lime green dress? They must be every-- Cameron stopped. He didn't see anyone wearing a lime green dress. Great. Now he'd never find her. "k i'm lookin" he wrote, then hit send. Hopefully he'd be able to find her quickly. He looked like such a loner wandering around by himself.
Was that her? A girl in a green dress was standing near the dance floor, looking around. She had reddish brown hair. Cam grinned. Definitely her. He just wanted to wait and see if she checked her phone, because she should be getting a text from him pretty soon...

Abby Mardel "I shoulda be-" This time I grabbed phone quickly, allowing no time for the embarassing ringtone to cause stares again. "K, I'm lookin. I was too. Continuing to inspect basically every guy in the dance, I finally thought I found him. Grey tux, blonde hair, real cute according to me. My firends sometimes tease me that I have a wierd guy taste. She didn't believe it though. Everyone's got their own taste, right? Whatever. Looking up from my phone, I caught the blonde staring at me, a big grin glued to his mouth. "found me yet?" I texted with quick fingers. "cause I found you."

Cameron stood there silently for a couple more seconds before the girl's phone went off. He smiled again. He began to walk towards her, but then he noticed that she was typing something. To him? Oh, jeez, she just looked at him. She knew who he was, he could tell. His phone vibrated, and he snatched it out of his pocket. Cameron resisted laughing as he read the words. If they had been talking not texting he would have said something incredibly sarcastic, but it was kind of hard to pull of sarcasm in texting -- no one ever knew what he meant.
"i found u first" he wrote back. Sliding his phone shut and dropping it into his pocket, Cameron began to walk towards the girl. He stopped when he was right in front of her. "Nice to meet you," he said, a big goofy smile on his face.

A dazzling smile seemed to glue itself to her mouth, refusing to come off. Finally she spoe to him without a phone. "You too. My name is Abigail Mardel, But everyone calls me Abby." That said, she replaced her phone back into the tiny silver handbag, and smiled again. this time, Her pearly white teeth seemed to shimmer. He was cute! She thought. So glad Massi made me do this. "I can't believe Those idiots talked us into this, can you?" She could make smalltalk, but she didn't really want to. She felt like dancing. And right as she thought of it, a slow song started. it was Hey There Delilah. She loved that song. Looking around, everyone started to slow dance, close and romantic. Looking at him, she waited.
