caliope placed a kiss on the large cremes nose, laughing slightly as he nuzzled her neck and then dropped his head to her pockets, nosing them trying to find treats. cali held her hands up in defense, an apologetic look on her face, "not until after the ride bebe." her thick british accent carried over on the words, making it obvious she wasn't canadian. she pulled her auburn hair into a bun as fly turned away from her and munched some loose hay on the ground. cali playfully pushed his rump, laughing as he leaned into her harder knocking her off balance. "oh you silly bebe." she teased him as she slipped is neon purple halter, with its matching lead rope. his nose bumped her arm gently and he let out a throaty huh-huh-huh huh-huh-huh, a horses greeting for their special chosen person.
cali clipped fly into the gross ties, quickly brushing down his large body. calis hands brushed over his cream coat whenever she was buying him, following each brush stroke, with one from her hand. cali placed a kiss on fly's nose and he stamped his hoof impatiently, knowing he was going to get to jump today. "easy bebe." she cooed to him lightly as she darted off to grab his purple saddle pad, saddle, and bright purple bridle. all of fly's accessories are purple, from bell boots to breast plate. cali quickly placed flys tack on him, cinching the girth, and attaching his purple breast collar. cali quickly donned flys purple sport boots. cali undid his cross ties and took off his halter, slipping the bridle over his head, her thumb pressing into gums, asking him to open his mouth for the bit, fly took it easily, but showed his distaste for it by flattening his ears. caliope grabbed her purple helmet, yeah there's a slight obsession of purple going on here.

`xsandre silas parker`` - - - - - - - - I'm happy knowing you are mine The small form of a young boy flitted about the field towards the stables, skipping with each movement. Clad in a pair of navy breeches, he ambled through the tall grass, completely avoiding the path which had been carved for such purposes. Classes were done for the day, and he was excited... no, ecstatic to go to the stables. His mother had texted him earlier that day telling him that they had gotten his new pony up from the previous owners, and had trailered him to the school's barns. Xsandre was almost jumping up and down in joy. He only had his tinker horses, which his parents had gotten him and lived at the barn at home. One of his mares was living at the school, but she hadn't been trained to jump. So, in order to learn to jump Xsandre had to get a new horse. Apparently the compromise with his mother was getting a pony, since she was terrified letting him jump. At least on a pony he didn't have as high to fall.
Finally he reached the barn doors, and he pushed them open, the familiar scent of horses wafting into his nostrils. He inhaled deeply and smiled, tossing his head to force his long, chocolately-brown bangs from his face. He grinned from ear to ear, looking down the hallway. It was a fairly large stable, and a few of the stalls were already filled. Usually it took the students a few weeks to arrange boarding for their horses. He skipped down the way, looking in at the horses already there, and reading their names. He had ridden the new pony only once before to try him out, so he knew the horse by appearance and name. Finding the gelding wasn't hard though, as the little pony had his head sticking out over the door of his stall.
"Hey buddy!" Xsandre called, almost bouncing with joy as he approached the pony. Chance nickered, extending his head towards the boy. Xsandre stepped towards him, rubbing his nose gently. "Okay, Chancey, let's give this a shot!" he said, checking his phone to see what his mum had said about any tack. "Oh, hum, your tack's in the tack room... how obvious," he murmured, patting the pony's neck and prancing towards the tack room. It was pretty well organized, considering, and Xsandre found Chance's tack quite easily. Grabbing his halter, bridle, saddle and saddle pad, he made his way back to the pony, making a second trip for boots and a girth.
"Okay Chancey, back up now boy," he said, pushing the stall to the side, and moving into it with the halter. Chance stood close to the door, and so Xsandre placed a hand on his chest, pushing the pony back. He obliged, moving towards the back of the stall as Xsandre slid the white halter over his head, and led him out. He brushed, then tacked up the pony, leading him out by his reins.
Despite the day being nice, Xsandre wanted to get some practice inside. Leading Chance along the path to the indoor arena, he stood at the door, hearing hoof beats from inside. Blinking, he paused, hand on the latch for the door. "Door!" he shouted, letting whoever was in there know he was coming in.

cali led fly into the indoor riding ring, tossing the reins over his neck so she could set up the jumps. fly followed her dutifully behind her, nosing her ass and making her fall into the sand as she tried to set up a few jumps. caliope started with a few smaller jumps, making the highest one six feet tall. she looked back at fly, " you will jump this today bebe, we may have a chance at the olympics again one day." she petted his forehead as he butted it against, his throaty huh-huh-huh huh-huh-huh.
caliope lowered the stirrups and double checked his girth. she stepped up on the nearby mounting block and swung up into the saddle. her fingers slipped through his mane before settling onto the reins, fly started walking, reading her body before she even asked him for it. that was how they worked, he knew what she wanted before she even knew herself. they circled the arena one time, his hooves not making any sound in the sand. fly brought his walk up to a trot, cali sitting on the proper diagonal. fly extended his trot into a smooth collected canter, circling the arena in figure eights. "Door!" a young male voice called just before it started opening, fortunately cali caught the movement of the door and mad fly slid to a stop, and then letting him rear in frustration of being stopped. the stallion flicked his ears back and swished his tail in annoyance but then took on a bored expression. "oh, hello. don't mind fly, he just gets cranky sometimes." she said patting her boys neck. "i'm miss caliope, the jumping instructor." she said politely, fly giving up on being bored and extended his nose curiously towards the pony he dwarfed.

`xsandre silas parker`` - - - - - - - - I'm happy knowing you are mine Xsandre swung the door open, peeking his head in to see a young lady on a very white horse (but there were no such things as white horses, right?) who seemed very peeved that he had been stopped. From the sound of his gait before he had opened the door the horse had been in a canter. Oops. Xsandre gave them a sheepish smile, seeing the horse rear. Double oops. It was pretty evident from the horse that he was a stallion; Xsandre had a few at home, but he didn't ride them too much. His mum was a much better rider than he, and so she was usually on the stallions. He led the pony in behind him. Chance snorted lightly, dwarfed by the big stallion. He stopped beside the boy, as he stared blankly at the woman before him.
"Sorry!" he stammered, before she spoke to him. Her horse seemed to be called Fly, that much he easily gathered. Chance stood there complacently, happy to just stand there as he waited for something to happen. Xsandre nodded as she spoke again though, introducing herself. Miss Caliope? She looked very young to be an instructor, but he knew that some women looked very young. Either way she was visibly older than he. Chance stared at the big horse above him with brown eyes, his ears pulling back slightly. He clearly wasn't exactly sure how he felt about the big stallion before him.
"Oh oh! I'm Xsandre! Xsandre Parker! I uh, go here!" he proclaimed, putting his shoulder on the front of his pony and pushing him backwards slightly. He didn't want to start a fight between the stallion and Chance. "You said you jump? I'm going to learn how to jump! This is my jumping pony, Chance! This is well... my first time riding him as my own pony. My parents just bought him for me. He's supposed to be a good jumper. Won a bunch of shows last year around Alberta. He's very nice..." he said, glancing towards Chance and rubbing his neck gently. "Do you mind if I ride with you? Maybe you could teach me something! Well, that is, if you want. I mean, you don't have to if you don't want to," he added at the end, half debating in his head whether or not he wanted to use the mounting block or not.

cali was having a hard time trying to figure out whether she should be concerned about the the child, or laughing at how ridiculous this all seemed. "sweetie, i have no problem teaching you, i'm the jumping instructor, as long as you don't mind if me and fly practice at the same time. poor boy thinks he's been neglected i haven't jumped him properly in so long, isn't that right bebe?" she asked fly, who trumpeted a neigh in response to her question. he asked her to go, to which she lightly pulled back on the reins, not yet, it signaled. he tossed his forelock, "oh behave, you know i love you the most bebe, but this job is keeping the feed in your manger." she patted his neck and looked back to xsandre.
"well, get on in the saddle sweets. i'm not gonna waist all day waiting for you to get settled. first thing i want you to start doing, is walk over the set of ground poles, once you feel okay with that, take him to a trot, and then a canter, make sure you stay on the correct diagonal, and don't let him get floppy, make sure he stays nice and neat underneath you, none of the dragging his haunches and letting him touch the ground poles, since he's already trained he shouldn't but i'm warning you now in case. fly and i are going to take a few jumps while you get started." she said smiling, there wasn't much he could mess up on the ground poles, and once they took a few jumps she would check back to how he was doing.

`xsandre silas parker`` - - - - - - - - I'm happy knowing you are mine Xsandre blinked wildly, his black eyelashes fluttering against his cheek. Miss Caliope replied back to him, telling him she didn't mind teaching him, so long as she could practice at the same time. Xsandre nodded, not quite sure what to do with himself at the moment. He was a little taken back, and for once, was silent. He was going to get taught how to jump... now! Or at least, get on the way to learning how to. That had been one of the things he had wanted to do since he first started riding, but his mother had shrugged it off. Now though he was going to jump... soon. He smiled though at Caliope's horse, listening to her voice as she spoke to the stallion who seemed to reply to her. She had quite a lovely accent, and Xsandre tried to place it.
His thoughts were interrupted by Caliope again and she told him to mount his pony. "Oh, oops," he said, leading Chance to the mounting block. Despite the pony being small, he didn't want to put any strain on his back by mounting from the ground. Tossing the reins over his head, he pulled the mounting block to his side and leapt up them. He slid his toe into the left stirrup and then swung himself over and slipped his right toe in. The saddle was definitely smaller than what he was used to, but it fit him well. The stirrups were the right height too, and so he didn't bother to fix them.
She had told him to take the ground poles at a walk, then a trot, then a canter. Don't let him go floppy, and don't let him drag. Wha... okay. He'd figure out what that meant has he went on. He nodded towards Caliope and smiled. "Thank you," he said, grabbing the reins and leading the pony to the track. The pony felt tiny underneath him, and he knew he looked equally tiny on it. It was probably quite a funny sight, to see him on such a small thing. He turned the pony onto the track, moving with its bobbing head as they walked around the arena towards the ground poles.
Once Xsandre had turned the corner at the end, he turned Chance towards the poles, sitting quietly in the saddle. The pony seemed content with how Xsandre was riding, and walked over the poles, picking up his hooves to avoid hitting any of them. He tried this once more, patting Chance's neck after the second time. From there he asked for a trot, squeezing his legs gently. The pony snorted once, and then picked up his gait, moving into a slow trot. Xsandre rose with the outside leg, consciously aware of staying on the proper diagonal.
He couldn't help but watch Caliope though, hoping to see her jump.

cali watched him get started than loped fly in a large circle, letting him gather the correct lead. caliope turned him towards the first jump, it was small, only one foot, fly practically stepped over it as he took it. cali let him take the next few jumps with ease, standing in the stirrups and leaning over his neck as he took them. cali turned him in a half circle, taking towards the double oxer, now? he asked, not yet she replied mentally, now? he asked again, not yet, she replied, now? fly asked again, now she replied standing in the stirrups and curling over his neck. she smiled as they took the landing with ease.
caliope glanced at xsandre and chance, they were still trotting, she could finish the course she laid out. fly took the four foot jump easily, they had jumped a lot higher when they had been training for the olympics, nothing had changed in their abilites, just the circumstance in which they lived. cali curved over fly's neck as he took the next few jumps, each of them getting progressively higher. caliope knew their was only one jump left now, the six foot. they hadn't jumped six feet in months, she would be disappointed if they couldn't make the jump, they had been jumping 6ft 3in when she left. Fly snorted and tossed his head, adjusting his stride for the jump. Caliope curled around his neck, her hands resting by his ears, his front feet leaving the ground, arching up, his haunches powering the jump he took, his front legs sailed over, and then the back neither touching, clearing the rails by a good four inches, cali patted his neck and praised him as she brought him down to a walk, and moved off to go evaluate xsanders riding.

`xsandre silas parker`` - - - - - - - - I'm happy knowing you are mine Xsandre got his wish when Caliope turned Fly towards the first jump. It wasn't the biggest of jumps, and the stallion just stepped over it. He glanced down at his pony wondering if Chance would have jumped it. Considering Chance was much smaller than the huge stallion, he figured he probably would have. He continued to trot through the poles, most of his attention focused on Caliope.
Her jumps progressively got higher and higher as she went, and Xsandre found he had less attention on Chance as she went. Finally though he realised he should probably be doing something more, and giving a little bit with the outside rein, turned Chance on a corner and with a kick from his outside rein, pushed him into a canter. The pony snorted slightly, as Xsandre dug his fingers into the pony's mane, staying in his two-point position and cantering over the poles. It was at this moment that Caliope and Fly arched over the six foot jump and Xsandre's mouth dropped. He stared at her blanky as she turned to come towards him. Realising he should be focusing, he turned his attention back to Chance, keeping his heels down and steering the pony back around to go over the poles once more.
