Appearance – Skylar is a pretty girl, there’s no doubt about that. Currently her hair is blonde, with extensions down to her hips. In the past she’d had it her natural color; which is a brownish-red, though she absolutely hated that. There’s time when skylark just gets mad at her hair and chops it all off, quite frankly you don’t really know how you’re gonna see her the next day. Sky also has a naturally pretty face, though she decides to cake it up with makeup most of the time, putting on her other face. she’s one of the girls that can get away with bright pink lipstick, putting on the most redick fake eyelashes and still looking somewhat good. Her clothing style, now that’s completely different. What she wears that day is completely up to her mood. There’s day where she’ll wear all black because she’s feeling depressed and sort of down-in-the-dumps. Typically her normal clothes consist of some band t-shirt, and ripped up jeans, or shorts, either way.
Personality –
first and foremost, skylar is very straight-forward and blunt with people. this can occasionally come off as rude or bitchy, but never intentionally so. skylar just hates being lied to and refuses to do the same to other people. she isn’t afraid to hurt someone’s feelings – though that is not the case with her own emotions. skylar keeps those close to the chest due to mass amount of trust issues she has gained over the years. there aren’t many that skylar trusts. she has to see that they are making a sincere effort to get to know her and that they are actually going to stick around before skylar opens up to them. outside her rough edges, skylar can seem quite intimidating, being a girl who is covered in tattoos, hanging out with these rough guys, not the most friendly thing. she’s very rambunctious and talkative, always with a constant flock of people around her. skylar loves socializing with people – talking, flirting, anything. she can be rather critical of people upon first meeting them. skylar is quick to assume about people, which is her main defense mechanism until she gets to know the person she is in contact with.
once someone is able to get around skylar’s rough edges, she can be a rather addicting character. she is incredibly charismatic and is very much a people person. skylar has unwavering loyalty for those she trusts, to an extent. one wrong move on their part that puts that trust on the line, skylar will drop them like a bad habit. the whole idea of commitment is utterly terrifying to skylar . she has never seen a stable relationship in her entire life and everyone she got attached to was torn from her. she has a very ‘i-can-breathe-without-you’ attitude when it comes to relationships. thus, skylar won’t allow herself to put herself in such a vulnerable state without a fight. many people think that skylar is just a heartbreaker. they see how she acts around the opposite sex; she’s very flirtatious and playful, but if she sees that they expect something more, skylar pulls herself out of the picture. skylar goes along with the whole ‘heartbreaker’ stereotype. she’s much too prideful to admit anything else.
a lot of people turn to skylar when they need someone to vent to. she’s a fantastic listener and doesn’t mind people pouring their souls out to her. always in the mix of things, skylar is also the one people to go when they want to hear about the latest drama or gossip. however, even skylar herself knows that it’s best if she doesn’t give advice to people. she knows it would be stupid when she can’t even figure out what to do for herself half of the time. skylar is truly a free-spirit at heart. she’s very rebellious and often reckless. there are times when she has a one-tracked mind and will act before thinking things through. drinking, smoking, sex – she’s done it all and isn’t afraid of it. ask, and she’ll do it again. there isn’t much that stops skylar from having a good time, even if it does get her into heaps of trouble. of course, times come when skylar sits back and wonders what the hell she is going – there are numerous insecurities in her, but she refuses to dwell on them.
she despises sitting in classes – it’s much too uniform for her taste. she’s a more hands-on kind of learner. skylar is a very laidback and chill person who prefers going with the flow of things rather than planning them out.
History –
it started out as one of those classic forbidden romances. carson teigen was a nineteen year old law student at harvard university from a well-to-do family. elizabeth martin was an aspiring dancer from new york city who had no where near enough money to even attend a community college. they had met when carson had taken a trip to new york with a few of his buddies and ended up at a local club, where elizabeth just so happened to be dancing at. the dancer automatically attracted the attention of the law student, and after her performance, they made to speak with each other. they talked for hours, exchanging numbers and vowing to see each other again. for months after their first meeting, carson and elizabeth had been talking over the phone and meeting up every chance they got. it was during this time that carson had learned of elizabeth and her background – her hardships of living in a rundown apartment with no family, her struggle to break into a dancing career and issues keeping clean of heroin. just after a year of having met, carson invited elizabeth to move in with him in his apartment in massachusetts. she happily agreed. when carson’s parents found out about who their son was currently in a relationship with, they couldn’t have more disgruntled, but the couple paid them no mind. they were together for two years when carson graduate and elizabeth was seemingly clean. it was at this time that carson proposed and just five months later, the couple was married.
not long after the marriage which had caused a tremor through the teigen family, elizabeth discovered she was pregnant. it was this final straw that forced carson’s parents to cut off association, leaving the couple on their own. they moved back to elizabeth’s hometown, far away from where they previously were, way down to mexico.. nine months later, on august 14th , elizabeth went into labor with their first and only daughter. they named her jasmine marie after elizabeth’s deceased mother. skylar came into the world as a ray of sunshine for her parents, becoming their sole pride and joy. carson and elizabeth were both extremely attached to skylar. they raised her equally, even when elizabeth was a stay-at-home mother and carson was out establishing a career in law for himself. just three months after skylar birth, carson returned home after a long day, looking forward to seeing his daughter and wife. however, when he returned, the house was seemingly empty. the first place carson rushed to was the nursery, his first concern being skylar. she was sleeping soundly in her crib, a note beside her. it was from elizabeth, explaining to carson that for the past few months, she had been spending most of their money on heroin and couldn’t find it in her to stop. knowing it would be better for carson and skylar, elizabeth left without saying where she was going with the simple request that he wouldn’t try to find her and to raise skylar to perfection.
while carson was heartbroken, he respected elizabeth’s requests. the first place carson turned to was his parents, who, know that elizabeth was gone, welcomed him and skylar with open arms. for the first year of skylar’s infancy, she was mostly raised by her grandparents, though carson kept an active role in her life. he was busy with work, climbing up the ladder in the law industry. when skylar was a little over three, carson met a woman by the name of audrey stanton. he began to become dependent on the first woman to show compassion and understanding for him since elizabeth had left and they eventually married just four months after meeting. audrey gave birth to skylar’s first step-sibling, jessica kathleen, when skylar was four years old. just a little after jessica had been born, however, the couple split after carson had discovered that audrey had been unfaithful to him. audrey took custody of jessica. once again heartbroken, carson decided it best to move from massachusetts. he and skylar ended up in an apartment in chicago – one that his parents had paid for. skylar was more so raised by her father through ages four and seven. with money constantly pouring in from skylar’s grandparents, her father was able to stay at home more with his only daughter – though he was a very good lawyer and always in demand. it was in chicago that carson met claire flipowitz, who was yet another ‘audrey’. they married and she birthed another one of his children, lauren christine. skylar received a second step-sister at age seven. needless to say, the relationship between claire and carson didn’t last.
now age seven, skylar was old enough to understand what was going on. she had seen two mothers come and go. she had moved from massachusetts to chicago, and was now being moved to colorado. skylar had become attached to two different mothers, only to have them taken away from her. even at a young age, skylar was starting to distance herself from people. everyone was a threat except her father. at this tender age, skylar didn’t realize that it was her father that was truly the threat. he was the one who continually brought women in and out of his and his daughter’s life. skylar was not accustomed to stability. when skylar was eight years old, her father started dating a woman named marilyn stewart whom he had met at work in the law firm. skylar never got attached to the woman who soon became her third step-mother, or the three step-siblings she birthed. the first was caroline, who was born when skylar was nine. a year later was jordan mitchell and four years after him was colin mitchell. after colin was born, carson and marilyn moved their family from colorado to canada
they quickly became one of the wealthiest families in the area, what with both parents having come from rich families. carson started his own law firm, while marilyn stayed at home to raise the children. life turned into a complete hell for skylar. what with her father gone constantly and being considered second-best to marilyn’s children, she had to find a way out. while skylar was always a gifted artist and had a passion for it, that didn’t seem to be enough anymore. at age fourteen, skylar got herself mixed in with a crowd of misfits. they introduced her to parties, drinking, weed, boys. carson remained oblivious to the change that had occurred in his once precious daughter and marilyn didn’t care enough to fix what had had happened to skylar.
