Appearance - Blaire is quite a good looking guy, especially for his age. Standing at around 5'11'' he's very buff, one of the good things about his job as a police officer. With a toned upper body and plenty of muscle definition, it is a surprise he doesn't show it off more. Instead of opting for a shirtless look, Blaire's often seen wear just a t-shirt or collared shirt. He weighs in at about 150 lbs, mostly in muscle mass.
His hair is a natural brown colour, though he occasionally dyes it blonde. Keeping it rather short, he styles it when he has the time, but mostly he just leaves it to lie flat. He's generally well shaven and has never let his facial hair grow past a stubble. His eyes are a stunning turquoisey blue colour. With a bright smile and expressive appearance, Blaire is a genuinely warm and friendly person. One thing though, is he's VERY awkward naked.
Personality - Blaire is a generally friendly sort of fellow, and is generally nice to everyone. He's usually always serious though and can seem almost stoic, especially in a caring relationship. He has a hard time opening up his feelings though if he tries he can be loving and caring, it just takes a lot of trust.
He's outwardly tough and that may be a reason that he has problems showing his feelings. He's physically buff and has good endurance. He's very protective though, not only because of his job but because of who he is. He'll lay his life on the line to protect those he loves, and though he isn't completely mushy and huggy with those he loves, he shows this more through acts of service than anything else.
He also hates his name, and thus hates flowers. He holds a lot of contempt and resentment against his parents and usually shies away from talking about them. He is especially protective of his younger sister and would probably beat the snot out of any guy who tries to talk to her, quite like an overprotective father, but he's really the only father she has.
History - Children should be born out of love by two people who sincerely want them, but often this isn't true. Such is the case for Blaire, "Blossom" Thorne. The love child of a one night stand, Blaire was conceived by his mother an eccentric hippie. At eighteen the woman wasn't ready to have a child, and already in a relationship she had a hard time explaining the pregnancy to her current boyfriend. Thinking the child was his, he immediately committed to her.
A few ultrasounds later, they were told that their little baby was a girl and the two were overjoyed. Their own, perfect little girl. She'd be cute, they could braid her hair, put her in little dresses. Wonderful! Six months later they were blessed with their perfect little baby girl. Ten fingers, ten toes, one penis... wait, what?! Blaire's parents were shocked when they found out that their little girl whom they had already named Blossom (signed the birth certificate, etc. etc.) was a boy.
Blaire was somewhat shunned by his mother who had wanted a little girl to fawn over. She did what was needed, and nothing more. He grew to be a cute little toddler when his sister was born, a product of his mother and "father". His mother was overjoyed with their little girl, Seahorse. The two parents spoiled the little girl, but by the time she was four had lost all interest in both their children and began to spend their free time (of which they had a lot of since neither of them had jobs - they got by on money his father's dad gave him every month) getting high, drunk and having a lot of sex.
When Blaire was about seven his parents decided to take their hippie life style to a new level, one which involved becoming nudists. Blaire and his sister were forced into a culture of nudity, over-active sexuality, and of course, drugs. Blaire grew to resent both of his parents, embarrassed by his own body. He began to take care of his sister because his parents did nothing, and by age ten he was the only one who actually bothered to put a meal on the table.
When his sister turned nine his mother began to disappear often and after two days of not seeing her she finally returned, beaten and bruised, crying. She admitted that she had been having an affair and cheating on her husband. Naturally he was enraged, and she told him that Blaire was not in fact his. Thus, his father kicked Blaire out of their trailer, just before his mother confessed to him that she may very well be HIV positive.
He snuck in often to see his sister, but the situation was tense. His father would barely look at his mother and began to rely more heavily on his drugs than ever. He ignored Seahorse as much as possible, and after a couple months of Blaire being out of the trailer overdosed on a heavy amount of narcotics and died.
Blaire moved back in and began to take care of his sick mother, trying to get a job and keep his sister in school while he took care of the family and at this time he changed his name to Blaire. He graduated high school a year late and joined the police force, working another job on top of his studies to support his family. When Blaire turned 23 he moved his mother into a hospital as her condition worsened, catching pneumonia and tuberculosis at an infectious rate. Her HIV had kicked hyper drive into full on AIDS.
Worried about the influence this would have on his sister, he moved the two down to Crowsnest Pass, keeping their mother in the hospital while Blaire searched for a job with the police. Having found a job, he bought himself and his sister a small two bedroom apartment above a small coffee shop.
