Appearance - Jeff is of average height and has a slim build. In school he was called scrawny so he spent years working out to build his muscle tone, which he has kept into his adult years. He has naturally light brown hair, but adds in some blonde highlights from time to time. Jeffs emerald green eyes have been known to seduce a woman or two, not that he ever means to. He usually shaves daily, but during exam time he doesn't have much time for personal care, so he grows a small scruffy beard, that his students have been known to make fun of him for.
He has a light complexion but has never been sun burnt in his life, that might have something to do with the fact that during school he spent most of his time in the chem lab, but he likes to think that he's just impervious to the suns rays.
Jeff enjoys wearing dress shirts and jeans in the fall and winter, but in the summer he transitions to light t-shirts and shorts. He wears a delicate silver chain that his ex-fiance gave him before they broke up.
Personality - Jeff learned in his first few years of teaching that although its nice to be all of the kids friends, it isn't exactly practical. He is a nice approachable person, but he has his rules and expects them to be followed. He is a very outgoing person and has been known to hold parties in his rooms with teachers and his older students. Some students don't like him because they don't understand his sense of humor, he attributes it to the fact that he's a chem teacher and thus has inhaled too many fumes in his life. He's also blown up a lab or two in his past, but he doesn't talk about that too much.
History - Jeff grew up in Canada's capital city, Ottawa, and thus he's partially bilingual. Since he was a little kid he was always interested in the sciences, and when he got to high school he fell in love with chemistry. He loved learning about quantum mechanics, and organic chemistry. In university he took as many chemistry courses as the school offered. He enjoyed learning about combustive materials, and late one night when he was studying for a chem exam he was in a lab and was practicing a lab they had done a few days before, but he mis-measured the chemicals and blew up half the lab, escaping with only second degree burns on his right arm.
He graduated from university on the deans list with a degree in chemical engineering, and went back to school for another year to get his education degree.
Jeff couldn't find a teaching job for a couple years after he graduated, and so he worked for a large chemical company, working in the labs, but he scared most of the lab rats with his outgoing personality. He worked there for 4 years before he got a job teaching at a high school in the GTA, where he worked for 2 years, before he moved out to Alberta to be close to his family. When he arrived in Crowsnest Pass Jeff was immediately hired at Crooked Pass, where he's been working for two years.
