Crooked Pass Collegiate is a private equestrian boarding school set in the prairies of Canada. It's students hail from all over the globe, most of them hand picked by the school themselves. Each student is quite smart, and CPC has hopes that they will fulfil their potential when they graduate. Besides being a boarding school, Crooked Pass Collegiate is also a school of equestrian. Each student is required to take mandatory riding lessons as part of their schooling. Along with this though there are problems of identity, friends, cliques, gossip and all other aspects of teenage life... <3

{GENERAL RULES}

Firstly, Crooked Pass is rated PG 13 - 18 A. Please be aware of this before joining - I do not want members who aren't ready for this to join and realise they're in the wrong place. This means that yes, mature themes may be expressed but I am in no way promoting it. CPC is just like real life - swearing, violence and other things do occur. All threads which express these things must be labelled with a warning in the title. There is to be no sexual roleplay as well, and al-cohol may not be consumed or alluded to.

On this note, there is NO rape whatsoever. Yes, this may happen in real life but it doesn't happen on CPC without asking an admin, and even then they may say no. Same with mature themes of pedophilia and other inappropriate themes. I appreciate that not everyone is phased by these, but for the few members that may have conflicts with this, the rule is there.

You need to be nice to everyone. That doesn't mean you have to LIKE everyone, but if you're going to make someone's life horrible, just leave. We don't want that. Also, please respect your admins/mods. If they make a decision you don't particularly like, ask them but do it nicely. We aren't out to get you, but we do have to make sure everyone follows the rules. No bullying either - I don't like it. You don't like it. It's not nice. If you're not allowed to bully at school, why would I let you here?

Each season is two months long in CPC - so winter would be August & September. This allows enough time for character development without going by too slowly or too fast. For guests viewing the board - there is one category which is not available for guest viewing. This means the tabulated board may be a bit skewed, but only for that reason.

Do not ever use chat speak. BRB, G2G, AFK and what not are fine. Also; if you have a good idea, suggest it to us! We'll always listen. :]

{JOINING}

When joining, you only have to make one account for all your characters. This way it's easier and doesn't get as tricky. Make sure when you join that you've read all these rules. Once you've joined, or even before, you can join the chatango chat room and get to know the other members. The one nice thing about CPC is the sort of family we've created with our members, and we're always looking for new friends.

{CHARACTERS}

Once you've registered, you're free to make a character. Go a head and use our template, or your own. Either one works really, so long as yours included all the fields ours does. Make sure that you've filled it out as much as you can - this is the place you get to tell us all about your characters. Also; at CPC we're not looking for 'Mary Sue' characters - or those who are completely perfect. Everyone has their flaws. Also, we prefer characters who are 13+, but exceptions may be made with prior contact to the admins.

If you cannot finish your character at one time, please notify us by putting a [ND] or [WIP] in the title. We'll read it once it's done. Once your character has been accepted you may begin to roleplay in the board.

{POSTING ON THE BOARD}

Once you've been accepted, please take a look at our open topics. If none of them suit your needs, then feel free to make a plot idea with someone else, or just post your own topic. At CPC we don't have a set word count, but we do ask that each post be at least a paragraph in length. This means that each post should be AT LEAST 3-7 sentences long. Talk about what's around you, what's happening, how you feel. That way you give the other people who are roleplaying with you a sufficient amount to work with and post back.

If you want to use a posting template, go ahead! If you don't have one, but want one, ask one of the members. I'm sure they'll be more than willing to help you out. Keep in mind though, if you stretch my board with your graphics they will promptly be removed with a warning. That way it keeps the board nice and clean looking.

Please, please, please, PLEASE, use spelling and grammar checks. I cannot stand spelling errors - sure everyone makes a few mistakes now and then, but try your best not to. I suggest running your posts through word, or even getting firefox and adding the dictionary on it.

This is a liquid time roleplay, meaning your character may be in as many threads as you want them to be. I don't care if you're in ten - so long as you can handle it and keep your characters active, so be it. Along those same lines though you are not allowed to god mode or power play - no controlling other's characters, or being all powerful, etc. etc. If you DO have permission from another member to do so, please notify us in the beginning of the thread.

{HORSES & BUYING ANIMALS}

One of the aspects of CPC included horses, and these horses may be bought with in game money. Each horse costs $300, and may be bought in the money thread. In order to earn money there are certain things you can do in the site to do so - advertise, post, make graphics, or other such things. These horses can be bred, sold, ridden or just friends. If your character is coming to CPC with a horse, please contact an admin so that this may be sorted out. Horses are all logged in the horse list. As for animals, pets may also be bought with in game cash. But, unlike the horses, it is your job to keep track of them.

Horses may be bred by using a stud or two of your own horses. In the case of using a stud, you must pay the fee for the stud to the owner. Horses may be bred once they are 3 years old, and once you have posted your horse's stats in the breeding barn, a staff member will come along and give you the stats of your foal. The foal may be born two weeks after the date you posted your thread, and you must wait another month before breeding that mare again. Stallions may be bred whenever.

If a horse is bred and has points, the points of the mare and stallion will be averaged out and given to the foals.

Please keep in mind that I'm crazy busy with university! If you're posting with me it might take a day or so for a response. <3
